Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today.

It’s said that “the Joy is in the journey.” Such has been the story of Mother’s Public School.

Many years ago, in 1991 to be precise, a young woman, a teacher, a mother, a wife, a daughter, had a dream. A dream to embark upon a journey to help working women leave their little ones at a place where they could learn and play in a safe environment.

Thus was born Prakrit, a daycare centre cum pre-school. The rest, as they say, is history, in the midst of the changing landscape of school education in Odisha, over the last three decades.

Armed with undying optimism and in the company of a small albeit growing team that relished every moment of this journey, Mrs Poly led Prakrit to become Mother’s Public School, which has since expanded to multiple campuses.

Today, Mother’s Public School has five campuses, and over 7000 students and is managed by a staff of 750 teachers and other professionals. And the journey continues. So does the joy!

Founder's Message

Mother’s Public School commenced in 1991 as a preschool in Prakrit with a strength of twenty students. Over the years, the school was structured into a Senior Secondary School with more than 2000 students. Prakrit aimed to give working mothers a safe space to entrust their children. Mother’s Public School is the first to set the trend of a day-boarding school in this city. In the forthcoming years, Prakrit was reinvented to provide pre-schoolers with a stimulating educational & social environment. Mother’s Public SchoolTM strongly believes that Prakrit – A preschool of Mother’s Public SchoolTM is a sanctum ‘where creative minds begin to bloom wondrously fostering a curious mind with an equation of educational equity. Education aided with practical learning with a team of dedicated and hardworking faculties, the school has produced students who can face any challenge in life or career. The school has piqued the interest of parents across the state for its ability to nurture children who can face any challenge in life & career. Students are infused with a confluence of values of tradition combined with transferrable skills, and co-curricular & extra-curricular activities in a continuous & comprehensive pattern. Mother’s Public School has specific tailored approaches to cater to the needs of a progressive society. Together we create a loving community of purposeful learning that focuses on the child’s body, mind, and spirit.

“Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known” Carl Sagan There is never any point in the life of a person when he can sit back and say -“there is nothing more to learn, I can relax with the comforting thought that the universe around me is an open book, I know it all”. Education is not just about the subjects that are learnt and taught in school. First, we all have to be on the same page: children, teachers and parents have to understand education is not restricted to lessons taught in the classroom from textbooks. Parents and teachers must encourage children to ask as many questions as they can, for it is wanting to know that will result in actually getting to know. At Mothers’ each child is accepted and appreciated for his/her uniqueness. I am aware of the tremendous opportunity given to us to create your child’s educational life. We have the opportunity to instil a love of learning that can be nurtured and empowered to grow into something truly beautiful. Our school endeavours to provide children with opportunities to grow holistically and explore the limitless possibilities in their quest for knowledge; where teaching is a pleasure and learning is a joy; where learning and excelling is a passion and culture and values have a pre-eminent place. “Imagination is more important than knowledge. Our Mission

Education not only instils confidence, but it also instils hope, and it is the remedy for permanent peace. Today, the world is facing a “survival crisis” like never before, and we are certain that education is the only tool humanity has to solve this catastrophe. For a child’s complete growth, a comprehensive curriculum and simplified syllabus should be accompanied by good infrastructure. Mothers Public School is now providing yeoman service in the sphere of education and serving the needs of a vast part of society.
